COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update – 3.23.20

We hope everyone in our DIVA family is doing well. Your health and safety are much more important than some volleyball games.

As you all know, the news about the COVID-19 virus is constantly developing. The DIVA Board of Directors is working diligently and taking immediate steps to protect the well-being of our members. That being said, we do need to make some additional modifications to the Spring 2020 DIVA volleyball season.

Under orders by the Governor of Texas, the Dallas County Judge, and in accordance with guidelines from the President and the CDC, every person in Texas should avoid social gatherings in groups of more than ten (10) people until after 11:59 pm on April 3rd. That date is subject to extension. Therefore:

  • There will be no practice or games until the week of April 13th
  • The Miss DIVA pageant has already been postponed to May 30th

That means that the earliest we will possibly be back on the courts is practice on Tuesday, April 14th. Decisions regarding the remainder of the Spring 2020 season will be made at a later date as we learn more.  Our goal is to get everyone back on the volleyball court when it is safe to do so.  Should you have any suggestions or questions, please email them to Brian Borski ([email protected]).

We will be hosting a virtual open forum on Monday, April 6th (4/6). All members are invited to attend to ask any questions you may have, and an opportunity to see your fellow DIVAs. We will post details shortly.

We look forward to seeing everyone soon. Until then, follow all of the CDC recommendations. Limit your social interactions with others and wash your hands often. Also, if you need any help during these trying times, please reach out to your division rep or to Brian directly. We are all here for each other.

Stay safe and stay well,

The DIVA Board of Directors
